Robert Lougheed, 90, of Prescott Valley died September 25. He was born January 19, 1918 in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Clifford and Mabel Humphrey Lougheed. He attended schools in Cooney and Montpelier Ohio and then went on to serve in World War II. Mr. Lougheed worked as a chemist, electrician and as a Methodist minister. He was a naturalist, was gentle and kind like his father and was happiest on the road. He jokingly described himself as "just simple enough to have a good time all the time". Helping people, physical work and being close to the earth gave him comfort. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelle A. Davis Lougheed. Mr. Lougheed is survived by his son, David Lougheed (and his wife Nacy Paruch) of Arizona; a daughter Nancy Zimmerman of Erie, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Lowell Lougheed of Denver, Colorado, Wayne Lougheed of Providence, Rhode Island and Elvin Lougheed of Sterling Heights, Michigan; a sister, Veragene Cole of Adrian, Michigan; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There are no public services planned. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Prescott Valley Good Samaritan Center, Dementia Unit, 3380 Windsong Dr., Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.
