Robert M. Trevino, 63, of Cottonwood, AZ passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born February 15, 1958, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Santiago H. Trevino and Mequeal Lucero.
Robert was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by Casago. His interests and hobbies included his family, fishing, camping, old cars, music, and art of all types.
When Robert Michael Trevino was old enough, he joined the Marine Corps. Years later he met a beautiful Marine and fell in love. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1981. He was married and had 4 children, one son and three daughters. He was a loving husband that stood by our side because family meant everything. Then un 2019 he lost his youngest daughter to pancreatic cancer, leaving a huge hole. He stayed strong and stubborn, taking it one day at a time. It took multiple factors to take down this very strong (x7), willed man. The last two days of his life he promised he would come home. He went to the hospital where they first thought he had keto acidosis; misdiagnosed. Later was diagnosed with acute Metformin Toxicity. A day later he passed away.
We lost a wonderful man, great father, loving husband, and a great provider. Our lives will never be the same. We will miss talking to him every night, seeing his face smile as he played with his grandchildren; Akira (17 years), Xavior (15years), Zephenia (14 years), Evangline (13 years), Saphira (3 years), and Ryo (1 year).
Robert was preceded in death by his daughter Syndal and his mother and father Santiago and Mequeal. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Martha of Cottonwood, AZ; sons Swain (Sara) of Cottonwood, AZ and Randy; daughters Zerlina and Xanadu (Keenen) of Cottonwood, AZ; brothers Jimmy Trevino (Vickie) of Albuquerque, NM, Alex Trevino, Benny Trevino of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Sara (Tim) of Loshunas, NM and Trini of Albuquerque, NM; and six grandchildren.
