Robert L. Vernon, 85, of Clarkdale died January 24, 2011. He was born May 11, 1925 in Logansport, Indiana, the son of Harry G. and Idella (Moler) Vernon. He was a graduate of Arizona State University where he received a Masters degree in Science. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and taught high school vocational education in Indiana and Phoenix. Mr. Vernon visited Russia on an around the world trip. He was a lifelong member of the Masons F \u0026 AM and was also a member of the 32nd degree Scottish Rite bodies. Mr. Vernon was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish. He enjoyed gunsmithing and woodworking. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived his wife of 61 years, Charlotte; daughters Marjorie Singleton of Cottonwood; a brother Donald Craig (Fran) of Royal Center, Indiana; a sister Marjorie Howard; and two grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 25 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. VFW Post 7400 will provide military honors. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Josephs Catholic School, 2715 E. Highway 89A, Cottonwood, AZ 86326 or to Mingus Union High School, 1801 E. Fir St., Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
