Robert L. Zabik passed away at the age of 64 in his Cottonwood home early Saturday morning, August 30, 2008. He was born on November 26, 1943; the son of Henry and Eleanor (Rebone) Zabik. He was born in Detroit, Michigan; he grew up in East Detroit where he attended the local elementary and junior high; as well as graduated high school. Robert went on to further his education at the Macomb Community College in Criminal Justice. Robert also served his country during Vietnam in the United States Navy as an E-4; of which he was awarded numerous awards for his bravery, and service to his country. Robert worked in Law Enforcement for the Sterling Heights Police Department in Michigan; where he utilized the knowledge and skills received through his education. When he was not working he spent his time motorcycling-this was his passion. In 2005 he had the opportunity through the SCMA (Southern California Motorcycle Association) to ride all four corners of the United States in 15 days. Robert was a person who adored his wife and family. He loved spending his time with his family and numerous friends. He will be remembered by his family as a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather; and to his fellow riders he will be remembered as a man who was always there to help others. He is preceded in death by his brother, Brian; his daughter, Karla; and his parents. Robert leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Martha Zabik of Cottonwood; three sons, Walter with his wife, Randee, Steven with his wife, Patty, and Edward with his wife, Lora-all of Michigan; his brother, Nelson of Tucson; his nephew, Craig with his wife, Donna; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Blake, Dillon, Andrew, Helene, Megan, Samantha, and Dustin; as well as numerous other family members, and endless friends. *** Schedule of Events for the Celebration of Robert L.
