Roberta May George-Curran, PsyD, date of birth January 2, 1953, passed away September 5, 2013 at age 60 of colon cancer at her home in Cornville, Arizona. Roberta was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Loyd George and Kathryn Daisy Holtorf George and was a graduate of West High School in Denver and Metropolitan College in Denver. Throughout her life, Roberta worked in diverse fields including program analysis and project management for various petroleum and electronics companies. Following her dream to become a clinical psychologist, she eventually completed a masters degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. At the time of her death, she was a member of several professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, the Arizona Psychological Association, the Arizona Psychoanalytic Society, the Granite Mountain Psychological Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Additionally, Roberta volunteered her time with various charitable organizations. Roberta felt a deep connection with her Native American heritage. Her hobbies included downhill and cross-country skiing, trout fishing, hiking, croquet and art appreciation. In the final months of her illness, she took comfort in caring for rescued horses. She was particularly noted for her kindness, generosity of spirit and her ornamental angel collection. She was beautiful in every way and her blue eyes were mesmerizing in their warmth and intimacy. Her passing is a great and tragic loss. She is survived by her husband Donald J. Curran, her sister Marilyn Stuart, her brother Patrick O\u0027Brien and many cherished family members and friends. Roberta will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
