Roberta Marie Hoffman "Bobbie", 90, resident of Cottonwood, passed away at Country Care on October 19, 2008. Roberta was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 10, 1918; the daughter of Dayton Q. and Evelyn (Lester) Forsythe. Roberta was a graduate of Collic High School and then went on to business school. Professionally, she worked for the Postal Service. Roberta was also known as a talented seamstress and thoroughly enjoyed quilt-making and rug-making. Bobbie was a wonderful artist and painter; who kept active in her community not only as a member of the Elvia Verde Artists; but also as a PTA President, and an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; where she served in the Altar Society. Together, she and her husband Robert "Bob" lovingly raised 11 children-teaching them to be successful, strong and productive citizens. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bob Hoffman. She leaves behind six sons, Charles Robert (Vicki) Hoffman of Prescott, Arthur William Hoffman of Aberdeen, Idaho, John Thomas (Fran) Hoffman of Payson, Paul Joseph (Camille) Hoffman of Aberdeen, Idaho, Donald George (Lisa) Hoffman of Oceanside, California, and Peter Damian (Diane) Hoffman of Scottsdale; five daughters, Mary Jean (Ronald) Smith of Sun City, Martha Ann (Dennis) Althoff of Chandler, Margorie Eugenia (Michael) Lyons of Chino Valley, Evelyn Marie (Enalo) Lockard of Cottonwood, and Ruth Alice Hoffman (Michael Greew) of Flagstaff. Bobbie was also the grandmother of 37; and the great-grandmother of 41! Funeral Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 with the Rosary beginning at 10:30am and the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am.
