Roland J. Grannan Sr., of Camp Verde passed away on October 29, 2009, he was 76 years old. Mr. Grannan was a graduate of the Flagstaff High School , Flagstaff Arizona . He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University and his Masters of Business Administration from Golden State University , San Francisco , California . He was a Postal Inspector for 21 years with field assignments in California and Las Vegas , Nv. In 1972 he entered the Postal Career Executive Service and served in management assignments in the Western Region, The San Francisco Division and as General Manager Criminal Investigations on the Staff of the Chief Inspector. His final assignment was as Inspector in Charge of the Pittsburgh Division. He retired with 38 years of Federal Service in 1983. After retirement Roland was involve in property acquisitions and renovations. Over the years Roland spent his spare time hunting and fishing with many extended family members and will be greatly missed. He was a devoted husband, father to his sons and daughter in laws. He loved his 5 granddaughters and stayed involved in their lives. Roland was preceded in death by his wife Katherine of 56 years. Katherine passed away on December 12, 2008. He is survived by Roland Jr. (Teresa) Casper , Wy., Daniel and Andy (Janell) of Flagstaff , Az. 5 granddaughters Sheriedan Cheyenne, Wy., Danielle, Valerie and Kate of Flagstaff, Sarah of Casper, Wy. Services will be held at Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel Catholic Church in Flagstaff , Az. on Sat November 7th, 2009 at 10 am, with graveside services to follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery . The family request no flowers.
