Ronald B. Bowling

April 25, 1957 — June 13, 2018

Ronald Byckley Bowling, 61, of Camp Verde, AZ completed his earthly journey on June 13, 2018 in Camp Verde, AZ. Born April 25, 1957 in Middletown, Ohio, he was preceded in death by his father, General Byckley Bowling and step-father, Elmer Hammett. He is survived by his mother Billie Jean (Bowling) Hammett; sister Betty Watkins and husband, Denny, of Middletown, Ohio; sister Phyllis Cole of Kettering, Ohio; niece Heather Groves and husband Frank, great-nieces and great-nephews Brittany, Hunter, Noah, Shylah, and Teaghan Groves of Tracy, CA; his nephew Clinton Cole, great-nieces and great-nephews Cortland Cole, Landen Wilson, and Cheyenne Lockhart of Scottsdale, AZ; and dearest friends Kevin and Nan Lease of Camp Verde, AZ. Ron was the owner of a very successful business, the Clear Creek Trading Co., in Sedona, AZ, since 2002. Never one to follow the pack, Ron wants it to be known that he is proud that his success in life was a result of being stubborn, very opinionated, standing by his principles and raising hell for more than six decades. He loved antiques, guns, John Wayne, and Fox News til the day he died. Ron was an outstanding salesman, a successful business owner, an expert on American history, a talented artist, a sports enthusiast, a Golden Eagle life member of the National Rifle Association, and a staunch conservative who never hesitated to debate the issues and take a stand against government overreach. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood, AZ. A reception will be held for family and friends immediately following the service. Ron will be sadly missed. He leaves behind a loving family, many loving friends, employees, business associates, and his loving companions Roxy and JuneBug. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Soldiers Best Friend, 14505 N. 75th Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85381 (soldiersbestfriend.org)
