Ronald L. Cassidy of Cottonwood passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at home. He was 64 years old. Ronald was born on December 25, 1949 in Wichita, KS to G.W. and Opal Levon (Crim) Stofer. As an adult Ronald joined the Army, serving as PUI Army in Vietnam in 1970 and 1971. He was the recipient of many accolades including a Bronze Service Star; Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal Republic of Vietnam Campaign and Sharpshooter (Rifle). Ronald was a member of the Unity Center of the Valley and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hiking and fishing. He was a beloved husband and father. Ronald is survived by his wife of 2 years, Grace Cassidy of Cottonwood, his sons, Clifford (Melanie) Cassidy and Chris Cassidy, both of TX; his daughter, Veronika (Tyler) Evans of TX; his brothers, Steve (Gale) Cassidy of Tucson, AZ and Larry Cassidy of OR; and 6 grandchildren. A service will be held at the Prescott National Cemetery, located at 500 Highway 89 North, Prescott, AZ 86313 on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
