Ronald Joseph Esler of Cottonwood passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015. He was 76 years old. Ronald was born on October 17, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Emil and Anna Kuybus Esler. He had attended and graduated from San Fernando High School in CA before joining the military as a specialist for the Army National Guard, winning awards for marksmanship with a .45 pistol. Ronald worked in retail grocery most of his career. Most recently at our Cottonwood Wal-Mart for 10 years and at Connolly\u0027s Market in Sedona. In California he worked at North Oaks Market in Thousand Oaks, Fazia\u0027s in Van Nuys, Food Giant in Hollywood and Woodland Hills, Bell Brand and Panorama Market in Mission hills and another store in Port Hueneme, CA. Ronald liked fishing and listening to his jukebox, and he loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing his lifetime of stories. Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith of Cottonwood; his sons, Paul Ronald Esler and Robert Michael (Stephanie) Esler; his daughters, Patricia Ann Lee, Catherine Irene (Richard) Edwards, and Theresa Ann (Jay) Kessner; his nine grandchildren, Misty, Robert Jr, Ronnie Jr., Caysha, Suzan, Johnny, Brittany, Jay Jay and Colton; and his seven great-grandchildren: Mykel, Nyckoles, Christopher, Dakota, Carson, Brenden and Adriana. Services will be held for Ronald on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 9:00am at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood followed by military honors at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
