Rose Garneau, resident of Cottonwood, embraced her life of 98 years; passing away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 in Sedona. She was born April 6, 1909 to John and Rosa (Ueberbacher) Likosar, in Chicago, Illinois; where she grew up; attended 12 years of Catholic Schooling, and graduated High School from Immaculatta. Prior to starting her family, Rose worked as an office assistant in the insurance/broker industry in the Chicago Loop. Rose loved her family and her friends. She was a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed hiking, golfing, sewing, and playing bridge. She and her husband, Stewart Garneau, shared 60 years of life's adventures and challenges in the Chicago, Illinois area; Prescott, Arizona; and Corvallis, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, John Likosar, Anthony Likosar, and Walter Likosar. She leaves behind her son, Norm Garneau with his wife, Marge of Green Valley, Arizona; her two daughters, Marcelline Michniak with her husband, Richard of Darien, Illinois, and Barbara Van Wye with her husband, Jack of Clarkdale, Arizona; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren-all of whom, will miss her dearly! A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cottonwood; on Thursday morning, October 11, 2007 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Stewart, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Corvallis, Oregon, on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 11:00am.
