Roy E. Mineer passed away August 17th, 2021. He was born August 18th, 1946 in Logan, UT, the 3rd of 8 children born to Harold W. Mineer and (Dorothy) Deane Colville Mineer. He spent much of his life in the southwest, including Window Rock, Glendale, Flagstaff, Cornville, and Rimrock. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam as a mechanic. Afterwards, he worked as a cook, a handyman, and later as an electrician. He built a client base in the Verde Valley and found much of his work by word-of-mouth due to his reputation of honesty and talent. Roy was an excellent cook, fisherman, and skier. He enjoyed reading, dogs, and rock n’ roll. He had a great sense of humor, was intelligent, and was a nonconformist. He liked a good movie at home, the outdoors, and hiking. He was kind and gentle. He enjoyed his own company. But he was good company, too. He’d bring his wonderful salsa if he was invited to your party. He was a good listener and was contemplative. He would remember conversations from months past and share what he had thought about it. As a testament to his patience, he taught many people to drive a stick shift vehicle. He was easy going and not one to rush. Roy is survived by his sisters; Dorothy Hailey, Diane (John) Klein, and Danelle (Harold) Mineer, brothers; Jim (Marilyn) Mineer, and Myrl Mineer, daughter; Sonia (Jerry) Mineer, grandson; Baylen Mineer, and many nieces and nephews.
