Rozella L. Kleck

March 9, 1910 — March 11, 2003

Rozella L. Kleck, 93, died on Tuesday evening, 11 March 2003. She was born in Pittsburgh, Kansas on March 9, 1910 as Rozella Lorraine Hammond. She and her youngest sister, Clara Bell married brothers, George and Edd Wilson. George was killed in an auto accident. By 1939 Rozella had moved to Arizona and in June of that year she married her second husband, Ira J. ''Monty'' Montgomery. They were together for 38 years until Monty's death in 1977. They were well known in Northern Arizona as they worked side by side in Pay'n Takit (Safeway) and Babbitt's grocery stores throughout the area, Monty as manager and Rosie as a cashier. She married for a third time in 1981 to Raymond H. Kleck, a native Arizonan, born in the territory in 1911. They enjoyed 12 years together. During those years they moved to and remodeled his father's home in Sedona (they were in their 70's and doing much of the actual construction work!) and participated in many Odd Fellow and Rebekah activities. After Raymond's death in May of 1993, Rosie continued to live in the home they had so lovingly created until she broke her hip in June of 2001. She spent her last years living at Cottonwood Village and her last week at Sunrise Vista in Cornville. Though she had only one child who died in infancy she leaves behind two step-sons, Harvey Kleck of Cornville, Arizona and Dale Kleck of Douglas, Arizona. She was preceded in death by a third step-son Harold Montgomery. Through them she leaves 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and two sisters: Susie McFerrin of Lake Havasu, Arizona, 96 years old and Clara Bell Wilson of Parsons, Kansas, 90 years old. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 17th from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 18th at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
