Rudy George Martinez, 47, of Cottonwood died April 19. He was born October 2, 1963 in Cottonwood, the son of Antonio Cordova Martinez and Marie Estrada Frias. He attended Clemenceau School and graduated from Mingus Union High School. He worked for Steve Coury auto dealership for eight years until his health failed. Rudy was commander of the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) at the American Legion. He did a lot of work for the American Legion for toy drives, food drives, etc. He also played and coached recreational softball. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Marie Frias; brother Tony Martinez, Sr. of Flagstaff; sisters Monique Negrete (Anthony) of Laveen and Nadine Ramirez (Robert) of Prescott Valley; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25 at the Westcott Funeral Home from 3-5 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 4 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 26 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
