Ruth Ann Williams

Ruth Ann Williams, 61, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2006. Ruth was born on July 15, 1944 in Phoenix, AZ, to Thomas Leonard and Marjorie Jean (Harlan) Sexton. Ruth graduated in 1962 from Mingus Union High School in Jerome, AZ, following which, she moved to Flagstaff, AZ where she attended Northern Arizona University and received her degree in art. After receiving her degree, Ruth taught at various grade schools in Flagstaff as an art teacher. Later on she worked as a Realtor at Century 21 Sexton Realty, as well as at the Verde Valley Chamber of Commerce. Despite Ruth\u0027s challenges with multiple sclerosis, she led a full and productive life. Her attitude and love of life was both an example and inspiration to many, many people. Ruth was very involved in the MS Support Group, she was also very active with the Rio Verde Roverettes. She enjoyed genealogy, horses, various forms of art, but her true joy was found in and with and around her family. She is preceded in death by her parents. Ruth leaves behind her son, Jim Wilson and his wife Chris (Beard) Wilson of Flagstaff, AZ; her daughters, Denise Lerette and Diana Monachelli, both of Cottonwood, AZ; her sister, Barbara Lou Williams and her husband, Bob Williams, also of Cottonwood, AZ; and three grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at the Verde Valley Senior Citizens Center, 500 E. Cherry Street in Cottonwood, on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 11:00am.
