Sarah Marie Roderick, 8, of Cottonwood, passed from this world and went to live with her Jesus on April 22, 2013. Sarah was born on August 8, 2004. She had many interests and talents including science, art, reading, piano, AWANA, American Girls, and soccer. She really liked candy a lot too. Sarah showed love to critters of all types and was compassionate, tender, and kind to others. She was her Mom\u0027s "little shadow" around the house during the day learning how to cook, put on make-up, helping out with chores, or simply being there. She volunteered time to the elderly; she had a special way of knowing just what to do and say to make them feel comfortable and loved. From a very early age, it was obvious Sarah was unique in the way she perceived and experienced the world around her. Her waters ran deep. She was intuitive about the needs of others and took interest in meeting them. She was impressed by the likes of Gladys Aylward and Hudson Taylor and had aspirations of being a medical missionary. She was determined to make her life count. Those Sarah left behind include her mother and father, Scott and Noreen Roderick, three siblings Hannah, Rachel, and Jamin; grandmother Mary Ellen Hernandez of Chattanooga; grandfather Robert Wolter of Sun City; many other relatives including aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of the family; her best friend Kalei aka "trouble" and hamster "Nibblet" of Russia. Her family, friends, and community will celebrate her life on Monday, April 29th, 10:30am in the Verde Baptist Church worship center, 102 S. Willard Street. Contributions in her name can be made at any Bank of America. An online guestbook is available to sign at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
