Shirley K. "Red" Lloyd, a resident of Sedona, AZ passed away April 30, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Thelma Kenvin; four sisters; husband, Richard "Hank" Lloyd; daughter in-law, Patti Lloyd. Survived by brother, Earl Kenvin; sons, Dr. Richard (Eileen) E. Lloyd, David T. Lloyd, Larry K. Lloyd, and Fred G. Lloyd; five grandsons, and nine great grandchildren. She was born in Youngstown, OH in March 15, 1923. She married her high school sweetheart Hank Lloyd on June 19, 1943 in Beaufort, SC, becoming a war bride during World War II. After the War, Hank and Shirley moved to Flagstaff, AZ in 1946. Hank graduated from Arizona State College and went on to become a professor at Northern Arizona University. Shirley was a stay at home mom, raising four sons. Her good humor, kindness, compassion, and generosity were treasured by family and many friends. Family celebrations, bridge with friends, crossword puzzles, golf, and particularly sharing life and traveling with Hank were favorite pastimes. A full, complete, and happy life lived without regrets! Our hearts are heavy, but we rejoice at her relief of earthly suffering and her reunion with her beloved Hank. Her family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff of Sedona Winds retirement community, and Hospice Compassus for providing comfort in her last hours. Memorial service will be June 8, 2013 at 10 AM at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 330 Scenic DR, Clarkdale, AZ.
