Thelma Louise Dunn, 97 of Phoenix, passed away on December 29, 2014. She was born on January 27, 1917 in Atlanta, GA. Thelma attended Roby Grade School \u0026 Roby High School 12th grade in Roby, TX and Nurses Aide training in Jerome, AZ during WW II. She worked at Carlsons Department Store in Cottonwood \u0026 baked pies for the soda fountain shop next door. She also owned \u0026 operated "The Dog House" in Cottonwood, cooked at "The Chatter Box" in Cottonwood and was the kitchen Supervisor/Cook at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, AZ. Thelma belonged to Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood and was Secretary/Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher for various ages from nursery to high school. Thelma served others by preparing meals for the sick, taking them to doctor\u0027s appointments, buying groceries, cleaning their house, doing their laundry and visiting with them. Thelma (affectionately known as "Mamaw" to her family) lived a Godly life, sharing her faith \u0026 putting others first before her own desires. She was nurturing \u0026 compassionate \u0026 gave of herself. She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing dominos, traveling, gardening, \u0026 being with friends \u0026 family, as well as talking with others about her life experiences, of which she had many interesting stories to share. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband James Louis Dunn; father and mother Clint \u0026 Alma Mosley; sisters Lorene Tipps \u0026 Agnes Gibson; brother Harvey "Bud" Mosley; daughters Mary Ann Keirn \u0026 Nancy Maullin; son Terry Dunn and grandson Emmitt Dunn. She is survived by daughter Judy LeTarte of Phoenix, AZ; son Troy Dunn of Phoenix, AZ; 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood. Graveside Service will follow at 2:00pm at Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood.
