Thomas R. Gatlin

Thomas Robert Gatlin, 82, a resident of Sedona died June 13. He was born March 30, 1922 in Avery, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Mt. Olive High School in Mt. Olive, Mississippi and was the 1940 valedictorian. Mr. Gatlin retired after a career in the Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and served in England, Germany and was a Bronze Star recepient. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Lily A. Gatlin; two daughters, Barbara L. Neuzil and her husband Steve of Concho and Jennifer L. Nichols and her husband Joel of Cottonwood; two sisters, Jo Ella Webb of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Frances McLeod of Mt.Olive, Mississippi; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 18 in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix (Cave Creek)at 12:30 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 So. 48th St., Tempe 85282. Westcott Funeral Home assited the family with these arrangements.
