Thomas Forde Roper, 75, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in Goodyear, Arizona under the kind care of Hospice of the Valley. He was born June 2, 1931 in Evanston, Illinois to Forde and Marie Roper. Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War earning the Purple Heart. The memories of family fishing trips, skiing and boating will always be treasured. He especially enjoyed fishing trips with his wife, Bonnie. He was best known for his work with his fellow residents of Pine Shadows where he enjoyed the challenge of fixing anything and everything. He proudly described himself as a "Jack of all trades and master of none". He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him, and will forever remember the way in which he touched their lives. Tom is preceded in death by his father, Forde; his mother, Marie, and his sister, Jeannie. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie of Cottonwood, Arizona; two daughters, Renee of Phoenix, Arizona, and Robin of Colorado; 3 step-sons, Brian (Sandra), Jodie (Pam), and Chadd, all of Illinois; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Norbert of Illinois, and Robert (Marge) of Florida.
