Twila Joy Mooney, 80, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, on Thursday, September 28, 2006. She was born on August 6, 1926 in Rockford, Illinois to William and Lillian Frickson. She was a High School graduate of Waterloo, Iowa, following which; she worked at Raths Packaging Company. Later, after her marriage to Marvin Mooney on March 1, 1952, Twila proudly took the role of homemaker. Twila was a member of the Methodist Church. She attended Grace Community Church in Tempe (WOW), where she was involved in the Ladies Bible Study Group, as well as others. She enjoyed pottery, reading, and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed her family and her pets. Twila is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Mooney, Sr.; grandson, Connor Tapo; and brother, Francis Frickson. She is survived by her sons, Marvin Mooney Jr. and Kathy Murphy of Oakhurst, California, and Thomas Mooney of Cottonwood, Arizona; her daughters, Carolyn Tapo with husband, Christopher, Sr., of Phoenix, Arizona; and Paula Jesness with husband, Al of Franklin, Massachusetts; brother, William Frickson, Jr. with wife Zelma, of Waterloo, Iowa; sisters, Lila Jean Wittenburg (Twin) with husband, Lavern, of Shell Rock, Iowa, and Andrea Wroblewski of Waterloo, Iowa; and 5 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood.
