Vernon Edward Coleman, 74, of Cottonwood died October 31. He was born April 14, 1934 in Prescott, the son of Douglas and Emily (Smith) Coleman. Mr. Coleman was well known as a bus driver for Mingus High School. He also had worked for Yavapai County, drove tanker trucks, was a true cowboy who appeared as an extra in several western movies and also had worked on the Jordan Ranch in Sedona. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, horse and mule rides, jeep and quad rides, just being outdoors, spending time with his family and friends and telling stories about it. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Norene Coleman; his second wife, Betty Coleman; a brother, Fred Coleman; a sister, Alberta Makela; and a brother in law, Richard Dotson of Utah. Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 11 years, Sheila Coleman; a daughter, Marie Carpenter (and her husband Jay) of Cornville; brothers, Allen Coleman (and his wife Clara) of Cottonwood, Raymond Coleman (and his wife Sally) of Arkansas, and Michael Coleman of Camp Verde; a sister Jean Dotson of Utah; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
