Violet Giffin, 83, of Sedona, died September 9, 2011. She was born May 12, 1928 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Everett and Viola (Auge) Chadwick. Violet was a member of Verde Baptist Church and loved Bible study classes. She was an accomplished seamstress who had owned her own businsess. She was an avid reader who enjoyed writing poetry, playing table games and crocheting. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Violet was preceded in death by her husband Gormon Giffin. She is survived by son James Shiver (Jeannie) of Oklahoma, adopted son Ted Morris (Kathy) of Cottonwood, step-sons Ron Giffin (Anna Maria) of Tempe, Rick Giffin (Laura) and Mike Giffin (Pam) of Phoenix; daughter Anita Sue Hubert (Dennis) of California; Sisters Patricia Carrel of Sedona, Donna Koehn (Walter) of Oregon, Bonnie Duckworth of Oklahoma, Rita Chadwick of Oklahoma and Marie Chadwick of Sedona; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A visitation was held at Westcott Funeral Home Thursday, September 8 from 9-10:30 am, a graveside service was held at Phoenix Memorial Park Thursday, September 8 at 2 pm, and a memorial service will be held at Verde Baptist Church, 102 S.
