VIRGINIA ALVAREZ Sunrise December 31st 1919 - Sunset February 20th 2010 Loving wife of Jess Alvarez, she was preceded in death by her husband on February 8th 1972. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Ann Riojas (Julian), Laverne Morris, Dolores Schultz (David). Grandchildren Joye Riojas, Gaye Riojas, Tim Riojas (Theresa), Kristian Johnson (Mike), Audra Logue and Monday Morris. Great-grandchildren Jessica Logue, Brian Long, Meagan Johnson, Michelle Johnson, Rachel Johnson, Sabbath Riojas, Raven Riojas and Tyler Long. Virginia was born in Decoto, California to Thomas and Josefine Vegas. She married Jess Alvarez on January 14th 1939 in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Niles, California. Virginia worked in canneries and retail for FW Woolworth. In 1964 they moved to Reno, Nevada and ran their business, the Townsite Motel for many years. When Jess passed on, Virginia returned to Union City (Decoto) and lived here till present. She looked forward to family celebrations and was happiest when family and friends came to visit. She enjoyed gardening, especially her roses. Later in life she liked playing board games, puzzles and reading. At Virginia\u0027s request there will be no services. There will be a family gathering to celebrate her life.
