Virginia Ruth Carter, 83, of Camp Verde died May 18. She was born April 2, 1923 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Harry Thurston Lee and Orpha Christine (Becker) Lee. Mrs. Carter loved her grandchildren. She spoiled them and never got upset when they were mischievous. She enjoyed watching baseball, raising dogs, hunting and fishing. Known as a great cook, she was a wonderful mother, homemaker and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Carter. She leaves three sons, William Wesley Carter (and his wife Valerie), Richard Lee Carter (and his wife Joanna) and Robert Lee Carter (and his wife Vickie), all of Camp Verde; three daughters, Sharon Lee Turner (and her husband Allen) of Camp Verde, Kathryn Ann Norris (and her husband Harold) of Cottonwood and Cheryl Aggars (and her husband Larry) of Salt Lake City, Utah; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A visitation will b held on Monday, May 22 in the Westcott Funeral Home in Camp Verde from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 in the funeral home at 10 AM.
