Virginia Contreras, 78, of Cottonwood died January 22. She was born March 20, 1931 in Drake, Arizona, the daughter of Gabino and Remedio Flores Soto. She graduated from schools in Drake and Prescott. During the 1970\u0027s, Frank and Virginia operated Mr. C\u0027s Drive-In Restaurant in Clarkdale which later became Su Casa. Her family remembers her as a great wife and mother and she showed a lot of love to her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a member of St. Cecilia\u0027s Catholic Church and later Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her passion was cooking and especially baking. She loved making arts and crafts for everyone. Throughout her life in Cottonwood she made contributions to the Humane Society, the Old Town Mission and the Goodwill Store. She was preceded in death by a daughter Yolanda Contreras Rhodes and son in law Daniel Vernon Rhodes; sisters Josie Soto, Lydia Messimer and Lena Fino; brothers Ernie Soto and Ralph Soto. Mrs. Contreras leaves her husband Frank M. Contreras; daughter Veronica Contreras of Cottonwood; brother Hank Soto (Dora) of Texas; grandchildren Ruby Rhodes Randall of Tucson, Gabriel Francis Rhodes of Cottonwood and Ruban Contreras Smith of Cottonwood; great-grandchildren Gunner Randall and Chase Randall, both of Tucson. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 4th in the Westcott Funeral Home with a Rosary at 10 AM and a Prayer Service at 11 AM.
