Virginia Kay Blackburn Hunsaker, 65, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006. She was born on August 6, 1940 in Wickenburg, Arizona to Byron Lavelle Blackburn and Virginia May Kershaw. Virginia - also known as \u0027Kay\u0027 to her family and friends - spent most of her life in the valley with dreams of four seasons, a love for animals, and a joy in watching her family grow. Kay was a 1958 graduate of Mesa High School. Following which, she received her Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Computers as a graduate of Mesa Community College, she also attended Arizona State University. Kay worked in the computer operations field for over 3 decades. At one point, she was the longest employed individual at Mesa Lutheran Hospital - having dedicated over 37 years of service. And most recently, she gave of her time, talents and other resources at NCS Pearson in Mesa, AZ for the past five years. Kay was always an example of kindness and service-to-others. She was often found doing for others and going out of her way to take care of her family and friends. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Virginia Blackburn; and her only brother, Jon Blackburn. She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Harold Randall Hunsaker, Sr. of Cottonwood, AZ; her children, Becky Hunsaker of Tucson, AZ, Debbie Hunsaker of Cottonwood, AZ, Randy Hunsaker of Dewey, AZ, Tracy (Donley) Hurd of Gilbert, AZ, and Kristina (Dale) Shields of West Paris, MA; 12 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 1377 E. Hombre Drive in Cottonwood, AZ.
