Virtue B. Gerrish, 92, resident of Village of Oak Creek-Sedona, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at her home. Virtue was born on March 16, 1914 to Louis Joseph and Elsie (Bond) Bressin in Big Rapids, Michigan. Virtue served her country during WWII as Lieutenant and Nurse for the United States Army. Virtue enjoyed traveling, reading and golfing. She was a member of the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Gerrish; her sister, Bernice Minich; and her brother, Ernest Bressin. She is survived by four nieces, Linda Cooley of California, Elaine Parachi of Massachusetts, Kathryn Rowland of Virginia, and Patricia Gilbert of Virginia; seven nephews, Dennis Minich of Florida, Gary Minich of Michigan, Michael Bressin of Virginia, Joseph Bressin of Florida, Harold Gerrish, Jr. of California, Stephen Gerrish of Idaho, and Glenn Gerrish of Hawaii; as well as her friend and caregiver, Cheryl Street, with her husband Jim of Camp Verde, Arizona. There are no public services scheduled.
