William "Bill" Cooper, 86 of Cottonwood, passed away on January 16, 2016 at home. He was born on April 17, 1929 in Laramie, WY to Richard and Dorothy Cooper. Bill grew up in Medicine Bow, WY. He served his country in the Marine Corps as Sergeant during the Korean War. Bill was the owner and operator of Medicine Bow Telephone Company. He retired to Cottonwood in 1991. Some of his greatest accomplishments was being awarded as "Pioneer of the Year" during Medicine Bow Days on June 29, 2013; receiving numerous awards for his self-less service to the Medicine Bow community and being happily married to Gloria Cooper for 59 years. Bill enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, visiting with friends and Sunday breakfast at Annie\u0027s and Randall\u0027s. He was a kind, hard working man with a generous heart. He cared for others deeply and was in turn loved by everyone who knew him. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Cooper and son Steve Cooper. He is survived by son Robert Cooper (Shelly) of Medicine Bow, WY; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at the Cooper Family Cabin in the Summer of 2016.
