William B. Bishop, 92 of Cottonwood, passed away at home on June 25, 2021. He was born on November 22, 1928 in Hiram, Arkansas to William Bishop and Thelma Ferrel.
William attended operating engineer trade school. He served his country in the Navy during WWII and received a bronze medal. He served on a Naval ship in the Philippines during WWII and became a private pilot in 1972.
William worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a lifetime member of Operating Engineers.
William enjoyed gardening, aviation, baseball, rooting for the Diamondbacks even when loosing and Nascar races on tv.
William was preceded in death by his wife Wilma; son Gary Bishop; mother Thelma; sister Nita and brother Robert. He is survived by his son Donald Bishop; daughter-in-law Pam Bishop; 1 grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00am.
