William O. Denson

William O. Denson passed away on November 14, 2008, in Sedona, Arizona. He was born on October 10, 1925 in Idabel, Oklahoma, to James and Mary Maddry Denson. He is survived by his wife, Velma and three children: Julianne Heers, James Denson, Jerome Denson and his wife, Cathy. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Christopher Heers, Jennifer Barger, Rebecca Savio, and James, Melissa, Kyle, Adam, Sara, Evan and Zachary Denson. Six great-grandchildren survive him: Hayley, and Sunnie Heers, Max and Olivia Barger, and Andy and Serena Savio. Two of Bill\u0027s sisters, Jamie Esser and Marie Sell survive him as well. Bill attended school in Oklahoma and lived there during his childhood. He joined the Navy during WWII in 1943 and served as a Radioman in the USS Panamint in the Pacific. He was discharged in 1946 and was in the US Naval Reserves until 1953. He was an Arizona veteran. Bill worked as several occupations when he was younger. He moved to Oregon after WWII and worked in the logging industry. He owned Denson\u0027s Saw Service in Coquille for a brief period of time. Bill and his family moved to Phoenix in 1958 and he went to work installing fire protection systems in commercial buildings. After five years he was transferred to Las Vegas, NV and worked there until his retirement in 1987. He and his wife moved back to Arizona in 1997. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed gardening. He will always be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him.
