William B. "Bill" Fanter, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008. He was born in Bakersfield, California on July 24, 1934 to Edward Eugene and Bertha S. (Gleckier) Fanter. During his childhood and teenage years Bill attended the Ceres, California schools. Following which he furthered his education at the Modest Jr. College. Bill also served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Private First Class with the United States Army. Professionally, he worked as the Deputy Sheriff of Stanislaus, Colorado, and Modesto, California. His hobbies included woodworking and camping. Bill leaves behind his wife, Reva L. Fanter of Cottonwood; his son Charles F. "Chuck" (Kim) Fanter of Boise, Idaho; his three daughters, Eva M. (Rick) McKee of Denver, Colorado, Terri L. (Jim) Branham of Livingston, California, and Shelia R. (Chris) Lones of Lizella, Georgia; his two brothers, Eugene (Loretta) Fanter of Manteca, California, and Lee (Judy) Fanter of Las Vegas, Nevada; his four sisters, Carolee (Leonard) Fisher of San Luis Obispo, California, Dora Wolfe of Washington, Bonnie (Dick) Whittier of Goodyear, Arizona, and Nellie (Ben) Sneather of California; as well as, eleven grandchildren.
