Wilma Jeanne Wright

Cottonwood, AZ Wilma Jeanne "Nonnie" Wright, a long-time resident of the Verde Valley, passed away Monday the 31st of August. Born November 11, 1927 in Des Moines, IA, Jeanne received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Arizona University. Jeanne spent her career as an educator, school administrator and Superintendent in the Verde Valley from the mid-1960s to the late 1990s. Jeanne was also a Member of the State Board of Education for several years. Jeanne was an active member and Deaconess for the Verde Valley Baptist Church. Jeanne enjoyed teaching, tutoring students and ministering to the women in her church. She is survived by her Sons Doug and John Wright, Daughter Barbara Combs; four Grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren. Services have been scheduled for Saturday, September 26th, 3:00 PM at the Verde Valley Baptist Church, 102 S Willard St, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
