Wilson Edward Beecher

Wilson Edward Beecher, resident of Clarkdale passed away in Phoenix at the age of 94 on Saturday, September 13, 2008. Wilson was the son of Henry Ward and Mary (Hammond) Beecher; he was born on April 4, 1914 in Fossil Creek, Arizona. During his childhood he attended schools in Clemenceau and Jerome. Wilson worked various jobs throughout his life and he was one of the very first Tribal Chairmen for the Yavapai-Apache Nation. Of all positions that he held during his lifetime, that of a family man was most important. He loved his family. One of his favorite pastimes or hobbies was working on his cars. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Beecher; two sons, Willard and Wilmer Beecher; as well as two daughters, Wilma and Wanda Beecher. Wilson leaves behind his son, Wayne E. Beecher; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service is planned for Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 10:00am, and will be held at Westcott Funeral Home. Immediately following interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale.
