Ynez H. Campbell, 94, of Cottonwood, died July 4. Born January 15, 1920 in Auburn, California to Roy and Leota Hersey. She graduated from High School in Ray, Arizona in 1937, and married George Howard Campbell the same year. They subsequently moved to Washington, D.C.; Alcoa, Tennessee; San Diego; Tucson and Sedona. They were married for 44 years. She was an active volunteer in the Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was very dedicated in her church activities, through Catalina Methodist in Tucson and Sedona United Methodist in Sedona, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, her brother Eugene Hersey, and grandson George Campbell, Jr. She is survived by her son, George Campbell (Pamela) of St. Petersburg, Florida, her daughter Jeanne Hokerk (Wayne) of Clarkdale, her brother Doug Hersey of Sedona, grandchildren Debbie Gettler (Roger) of Albuquerque, David Lagle (Warayna) of Fairfield, California, and Kari Link (Joe) of Clarkdale, 6 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
