Zelma Frances Price

Zelma Frances Price, 92, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Verde Valley Medical Center. She was born March 27, 1917 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Ella May (Teter) and Robert L. Tully. She grew up on a ranch near Muddy Gap, Wyoming. She graduated from Rawlins High School. On November 21, 1936, Zelma married Lyle Price. Together Lyle and Zelma were the self employed owner/operator of a road construction company, Lyle Price Contractor and Mingus Concrete and Materials. They lived and worked in Cottonwood for over 50 years, and were members of Verde Baptist Church during that time. Zelma held many positions, including Treasurer at the church. Zelma is survived by her daughter, Judy Pirtle (Gordon) of Coto de Caza, California; grandsons Richard Price, Robert Vineyard, and Jeffrey Pirtle; granddaughter Jennifer Gingrich; and great grandsons Landon Pirtle, Spencer Pirtle and Matthew Gingrich. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Price; sons Lawrence and Richard Duane and daughter Bonnie Kay Vineyard. She was also preceded by sisters Massey Kruger and Grace Butler and brothers Cole, Kenneth, Robert, George and Marion Tulley. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood, AZ. Interment will be at Cottonwood Cemetery.
